{FSC Book Club} Final Recap + Meetings 6 & 7

FSC book club

We read, we cook, we chat.
That is the FSC Book Club.

That’s a wrap! We have successfully cooked and baked and experimented our way through the fantastic cookbook Whole Grains for a New Generation: Light Dishes, Hearty Meals, Sweet Treats, and Sundry Snacks for the Everyday Cook by Liana Krissoff. As a group, we tried out new grains- farro! amaranth! millet!- and learned new ways to cook our old favorites too. Every other week, a new challenge was posted on Goodreads and we launched ourselves into new grains. You all posted photos on your blogs, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and in the Goodreads community. You stopped in for inspiration, for tips, to share your newest culinary creations and to help each other. Our Book Club author Liana even joined in the discussion, offering amazing recipe adaptions and advice.

I have a suggestion about the next book you pick. With The Homemade Pantry, I was able to take the book out of the library to see if I was interested in purchasing it first, and I did purchase it. This last book was not only not in my library but not in the whole system. I couldn’t even ILL it. I did not want to purchase the book before I took a look at it. Could the next book be common enough to at least to be in most people’s library systems?
