…and by Food In Jars, I mean blogger, cookbook author & food preservation instructor Marisa McClennan, her fabulous blog, Food In Jars, and now her first book with the same name: Food In Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year Round. Yup, its a whole day devoted to Marisa’s fabulousness!

August 19th is From Scratch Club’s Official Food In Jars Day!

Yes I Can!

Spiced Plum Jam w/ Marisa McClellan of Food in Jars

Whether you’ve dipped a toe into the world of homemade jar or never even picked up a jar, this class is for you. Canning teacher, blogger and cookbook author Marisa McClellan will walk you through the basics of jam making and boiling water bath canning. You’ll learn to make Spiced Plum Jam and will go home with a small jar of the jam as well as a printout of the recipe. In addition, as with all FSC Academy classes, you will also go home with a FSC goodie bag!

We have swap-curious tickets & swapper tickets available here

WHAT is a SWAP-CURIOUS Ticket? These ticket allows you to hang out during the swap, sample swap items and check it out to see if you want to come back as a swapper. Its also good as a ticket for author events, when you just wanna come hear/see the author & get your book signed!


Author Event Schedule
4:30-5:15pm: Marisa will sell & sign books during the ‘swap set up’ time.
5:15pm: Marisa will give her talk & take questions before Swappers brouwse the tables & begin the swapping event.

5:30ish-End: Marisa will continue to mingle with guests and sell/books books as needed.
