We are excited to announce that we are a “vendor” at the 2011 Honest Weight Food Coop Harvest Fest. Our booth will be jumping all day long with informative demonstrations, samples with the day ending with a MINI FOOD SWAP!!!! As of this evening (Friday night at 9:26pm) it looks like it might be sunny or atleast NOT RAINING for the event-phew. Cuz we went all professional and have printed recipe cards & samples to hand-out, 350 bookmarks/biz cards, a vinyl booth sign (with grommets!) of our canning-tomatoes-in-box logo and a schedule of demos. Oh, and we will have a tent, my boss Michael of Kilpatrick Family Farm is letting us borrow a tent in case of inclement weather. We are getting serious here!
Since this is our first fair we are doing a “little bit of everything” from the blog: sSamples w/recipe cards, fundraisers pimpin’, DIY Food Project demos and a mini food swap. Please stop by our booth and gooble up all of our goodies and say hello! We are very excited to have a whole day to spread the ‘from scratch’ fun!
In general, festival should be awesome with hot lunch foods, a full farmers market with produce, meat and value-added producers (including Britin’s own All Good Bakers will be there too) plus music on the boathouse stage, cook-offs (with Table Hopping’s own Steven Barnes) and chef demos by Chef’s Consortium. A truly wonderful celebration of local food and the businesses that produce it.
WHEN: October 2nd 11am-3pm.
LOCATION: Washington Park, Boathouse Area.
We will be located right at the beginning of the fair at the “no car” entrance of boathouse area right at New Scotland & Madison Avenues. HWFC tells me we will be right next to their welcome table!
You can stop by anytime during the hour. These demos won’t be official demos from start to finish with a microphone but just explaining the process throughout the hour to whomever stops by the booth. We will have recipe cards to hand out that correspond to the demo!
11:15am Butter Making in a Jar (shake it!) and Honey Butter w/ Liz.
