{1 food 1 week} apples

We are taking a break from our normal weekly posting routine to bring you five days all about apples. We know you’ve picked apples with your family from various orchards during the past couple of weeks.

We also know that you’ve probably used a bunch but there are still some leftovers sitting in your cellar, garage, fruit basket or kitchen table that need tending to. We know this because, well, we all have a varying amounts of apples left from our U-Pick experiences too!

Since we’re all in the same boat, we wanted to mix things up by challenging ourselves to create/adapt/try a new recipe that included apples. Maybe most of these are ideas you’ve mastered and have moved onto apple jelly or making your own apple cider (if so, wanna guest post?) but for most of us, we’re still in the sauce and butter phase. We will also address some savory applications too! Here’s to apples!

    We missed PYO season while on vacation. I’ve been tempted to buy a bag at the grocery store just to get my annual baking dishes out of my system! Anyone know of an orchard with good baking apples left?
