That is the FSC Book Club.
Join us in an on-going, virtual community discussion of some of the best food writing out there. Share photos and stories from your own life. Get together with your sister or friend and cook up a recipe together! Bring your book to a local pub and plan out the recipes you want to tackle.
Every other Monday, we’ll post Book Club “challenges” for the assigned chapters. You pick a recipe from the selection- anything you’d like- and then make it at home and attempt the “challenge”. Maybe the challenge will be to take a photo of the finished product or to invite a friend over to join you in eating it! Some weeks, we’ll just pose questions for you to think about as we cook our way through the book. Then you can stop in the Book Club at anytime to chat, share photos, ideas and inspiration. You can even go back to past discussions and catch up! No stress! No pressure!
We are planning lots of surprises and extras for this round of the book club- you won’t want to miss it.

HOW TO JOIN:
- Sign up for a free account at Goodreads. Once you register, you can log in easily using your Facebook, Twitter or Google accounts if you’d like. Now just join the FSC Book Club group & introduce yourself!
- Bonus: Follow@FSCBookClub on Twitter and “Like” FSC Book Club on Facebook. Follow our dedicated FSC Book Club board on Pinterest as we will be repinning your pictures, blog posts and other book club-related materials. You can also use the hashtag #FSCBookClub on Twitter and Instagram so we can see your updates.
- Get your hands on a copy of the current book! You can buy all of our book club selections at the FSC Pantry on Amazon. A small portion of sales from our shop will come back to FSC to help support our free book club. Think of it as a tiny tip jar to keep everything running smoothly.
- Follow the schedule below so you know when new assignments are posted on Goodreads. Stop in when you want to join the conversation, ask questions, share advice and chat. What did you make? How did it turn out? How did you use it? Tell us about where else you posted, if you like. Did you write about it on your food blog? Share the link. Start the discussion. Ask questions about the recipes. Share anecdotes or tips you learned in the process. Post your photos. Instagram and tweet us using the hashtag #FSCBookClub. Blog about it. Pin it and add the photo to our FSC Book Club board on Pinterest.
Use these discussion forums as a place to chat about the recipes, to ask questions, to share tips and to get to know each other! You don’t have to post on a certain day or at a specific time… just stop by when you have a moment, check out the conversation and join in.
We’ll be posting recaps every so often here are the blog, so you can participate in the comment section of those posts.
What if you don’t want to make anything from the assigned chapters or sections? What if you don’t eat dairy, gluten or some other ingredient? Well, you can absolutely modify recipes to fit your own preferences and dietary needs. I mean, obviously. We aren’t forcing you to make anything you don’t want to! You can also just skip the cooking for that week and get in on other conversations.
Yes, you can make more than one recipe! Yes, you can sit any assignment/week out and just follow along with the discussion. Yes, you can post about it on some new social media site that I haven’t even heard of yet. No, you don’t HAVE to post about it on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest if you have no idea what those things are.
