{local giveaway} Handpies by AGB

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! THE WINNER IS……… Alex, with comment:

Not only am I always happy or surprisingly blown away by the delicious food I get from them, but they also have really creative and tasty things on their menu. Plus, just by eating really good food I feel like I’m contributing to the community. The only guilt I have is to my waist line when I have to get a dessert after my brunch.

Also they have the best rye bread. Seriously. I love it.

Britin & Nick Foster, owners of All Good Bakers have kindly given us 4 glorious handpies, made with NYS organic flour, Britin’s own butter & buttermilk and seasonal jam (flavor will depend when the winner would like to pick them up!) to be given out to one lucky reader.

The lucky reader will be selected from the comments below (one comment per person). The winner will be contacted by Britin to pre-order & schedule pick-up.

The giveaway runs all this week, today, Monday August 6th through Friday, August 1oth at midnight.

I’ve never tried them, but I have heard good things from Daniel B on FLB and All Over Albany about their products! That is why I would like to try them.

I love that they’re building community instead of just trying to make ends meet without thinking about the rest of the world!

Great story. Great commitment to their food ideals. Great food. The perfect cinnamon bun (at least in my book).

I love that you are using fresh, local ingredients and producing high quality products with it. What better way to enjoy treats than to have them be free of junk from mass-produced baked goods and also be supporting someone’s passion.

Being locally sourced and having great vegetarian and vegan options are part of why I love them! The big reason right now is they have a delicious veggie sandwich!

I keep wanting to go there because of all of the hype surrounding the place, just to see what the big deal is and how good it really is, but it’s really, really hard to get there during their limited hours, so I still haven’t.

I love All Good Bakers because I go in to buy one thing, then can’t resist trying other yummy stuff. It’s also great to see such nice folks sticking to their ideals and making a successful business at the same time. Oh, and their hand pies are a wonderful alternative to Pop Tarts!

I am so impressed by how many things they make themselves in addition to all the baked goods. What other bakers make their own butter and include produce from their own urban garden. They are sustainability wrapped up in a store and I am ashamed to admit that I have never visited them but love reading their posts on FSC

Loving these comments!!! We are working long hours every day to bring affordable, clean, fresh, local foods to the Albany area. It’s been a little slow at the shop lately (the Albany summer slump, I’m told), so learning how much/what you like about us really means A LOT! THANK YOU!!

@KB, did you know we are open only 5.5 fewer hours per week than New World Bistro? We are in the process of developing a plan to stay open later (and add dinners) at least two nights a week, hopefully by the fall. We sincerely appreciate that you are so keen to visit us and hope our schedule will fit yours better soon so that you can come in!

Thank you, everyone, for participating in the contest! Please share it with those in your circle before Friday. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

How do I narrow down what I love about All Good Bakers…first let’s start with the Truffle Shuffle that rocked my world…then we have the cinnamon buns that Parry thinks are the best on the planet…can forget the philmores, LOVE the Philmores….Oh and the Bialy’s, for sure love the Bialiy’s….ok, having a little food moment.
Really though what I love about All Good is Nick & Britin. I love their integrity of food and their commitment to the community. You guys are super awesome on so many levels! So thrilled we have All Good Bakers in our local culinary scene!

I love everything I’ve ever had from AGB, but my favorite thing is a warm-from-the-oven savory scone.
