{photo diary} The Facebook Giveaway

We have hit a major milestone on our Facebook page- 2,000 & counting likes!

This feels to me like a social media victory of sorts! Tiny FSC in Upstate NY has a relative sizeable FB following, which is surprising & humbling. The reason why I care so much about that page is because its 2nd to our main home, this blog. As far as I can tell, our readers don’t use Twitter or Linkedin. We have a great community of folks over at Pinterest (which I can now rest easy as their Terms of Use were recently changed) but its a little far removed & distant as readers just “like” and “repin” items of interest. That said, Instagram is on its way to being 3rd on my list of social media love (find us at FromScratchClub)

Our Facebook page however serves as a great platform for both readers & us to share information, ask questions and have a dialogue while also sharing ‘link love’ with other fabulous home cooks, food preservationists & local food advocates such as Local Kitchen, Hungry Tigress, What Julia Ate, Autumn Makes & Does, Cook Can Read, Snowflake Kitchen, The Garden Of Eating, A Patented Life, National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, Food In Jars, and NOFA-NY while spreading the word on local events from local organizations & farms such as Capital District Community Gardens, Honest Weight Food Coop and Agricultural Stewardship Association.

In the coming week(s), maybe even by the end of the week, we will be debuting our first (and maybe only) original content that will be exclusive to Facbeook: FSC Book Club.
