LOCAL IRENE FUNDRAISERS OR DONATION CENTERS

- We are hosting two fundraisers; For the Farms: Denison Farm & Kilpatrick Family Farm and one for Amanda, a FSC Contributor. Any amount of money donated will qualify you to win one of the many gift baskets we have to offer. I have been bombarded with generosity; so I am happy to announce that additional gift baskets will be added this weekend; including two new {local} giveaways, a generous gift basket of 30 pounds of vegetables from Capital District Community Garden’s The Produce Project and anyone who donates over $50 will be in the running for a dinner for FOUR at Beekman Street Bistro (whoa.)  We have raised close to $1,600 combined for both fundraisers.

- Honest Weight Food Co-op in Albany is taking and matching (up to $10k) in donations for farms impacted by Irene.

-Britin & Nick and Sarah from Farmie Market, are having a fundraiser on Causes.Com: The Regional Farm and Food Project is a member supported, farmer focused, non-profit serving the greater Hudson-Mohawk Valley food shed of New York State. The organization advocates for the improvement of local food systems and helping consumers connect to their local farms. All proceeds from this Cause Campaign will be dispersed to farmers in the Greater Capital Region affected by Hurricane Irene to provide financial relief for lost sales, crops, livestock, damaged infrastructure, and other financial burdens incurred by farmers as a result of the storm.
