What’s new in my kitchen….?
This certainly posed an interesting question to me this week when I started thinking about this post. Being away from home, everything in my kitchen this month is new, at least to me! There were several items I considered sharing. This awesomely huge Sub-Zero fridge… (the baby is in the photo to give some perspective to the huge-ness), which I loooove.
Our sweet Farmer’s sink, also awesomely huge…
The super cute vintage bread box, which really does keep bread fresher (I always thought it was just a silly waste of counter space)…
These are all great, but I decided on sharing the details of one of my favorite Christmas self-gifts, my new Bodum travel French press.
I’ve been a coffee drinker since the age of 16, and I must have my two cups a day. It occurred to me a few months ago, when I was dumping a bunch of my plastic food storage to avoid plastic-y chemicals in my food, that my beloved beverage was brewed through plastic day after day. I hunted for alternatives, and spotted the Bodum at the Whistling Kettle, in Ballston Spa. I’ve been using it for a month now and I love it. It makes a great cup of coffee, stays hot for several hours (yes, HOURS), cleans easily, and locks closed with NO leaks. This is a biggie for me, as I am a spiller. I also like to put my coffee in the stroller drink holder, and can do this with no fear of scalding little baby heads. A month in, and this is seriously the best travel mug I’ve ever had.
Yay for Bodum!
